TELECOM Dinner & Dance (October 2004) MV The mtv was created for the telecom prom nite for the off-sync batch of 44 telecom students. The MV is based on the song RAINBOW (by Alex To) and traced a group of students from the start of their course to the time when they finisehd the course. The photos were captured with Fujifilm Finepix S2 Pro digital SLR, Canon Powershot A60 and post processed entirely in Premiere Pro. .In contrast with the May2004 video, this MV had bits and pieces of chereographed video scenes that are placed throught the MV to bring out the mood of the video. It took about 3 weeks from concept, storyboarding, filming to final production, the actual capturing of photos took over 2 years. Extensive overlays were used in the clip to silmulate a real life MTV viewing as if watched on the Asia MTV channel EAST WIND. This production requires more planning and organising as the production crew were split into 2 camera teams, 1 sound team and 1 lighting team. Camera dolly system and Steadycam equipement were also specially fabricated for this production. The photos are captured mostly with a Fujifilm Finepix S2 Pro digital SLR and processed entirely in Adobe Premiere 6.5 and After Effects 5,5 pro. It took about 3 weeks from concept to final production but the actual capturing of photos took over 2 years. SUMO Gungho Promo MTV The mtv was created as part of the launching of the SUMO Gungho robotic project. It is the first of a two part MTV series that features the concept robot SUMOgungho. Date created: Feb 2002 Clip duration: 32 seconds download

SUMO 'Slow Poke' MTV The mtv was the part 2 of the SUMO Gungho mtv series. It features the VR animation of the Sumo robot SLOW POKE who took part in the Singapore Robotic Games 2002. Date created: July 2002 Clip duration: 30 seconds download

Wait'in, the MTV The mtv was the part of an experiment with human subjects, it was shot in 30 mins at a local sports complex. Note that camera stabilising devices were not used in this clip. Date created: October 2002 Clip duration: 1 minute download

Special Effects

Nigel KungFu Fingers The clip was filmed entirely on a custom made greenscreen. The background was replaced with a virtual set and electric sparks similar to those of the evil Emporer was added in the sequence. Sound effects was added and....wala! u have a set of Kungfu fingers. Kung Fu Steve The same concept was used. This time a sand stone background was inserted. Steve (the actor) was given a power charged Kungfu push.......a set of lovely soft toys are vaporised. Date created: May 2002 Clip duration: 32 seconds download

Judy Killed Nigel This clip was done in order to test the realism of muzzle flash compositing. It would have been better if we could created spurts blood to simulate bullet entering human flesh when fired upon. Date created: June 2002 Clip duration: 30 seconds download

Travis Poke Nigel This was the last in the recent lightsaber series. After months of experimentation, more realistic saber sounds were inserted with some background music. Date created: April 2002 Clip duration: 17 seconds download

Saberfight in the Lab This clip featured the famous Mr. Lee Kar Heng who was slashed by jedi master LSS. The clip was shot entirely in 2 hours but the post production editing took 1 month to complete. Date created: Dec 2001 Clip duration: 30 seconds download
